Siding (cont., pg. 3)
Wood Siding
Real wood sidings come in various types: cedar, pine, spruce, fir, and redwood. Most framing contractors can be hired to install it at a separately contracted price.

Wood siding comes in vertical and horizontal planks, shakes, and shingles.
Like so many other real wood products, wood siding can provide a rich, beautiful look.
It can be quite expensive with unpredictable fluctuations in price.
Wood requires more maintenance than other types of siding. |
|
It must be painted, or stained and sealed.
Expect to repeat the same process periodically over the years, as wood is more susceptible to fading from sun exposure.
You’ll get the richest, most beautiful look from cedar and redwood.
But these are also the most expensive and availability is often a question mark.
