Keystone
A rectangular or wedge-shaped stone used as decorative accent in brick work.

Laminate Countertop
Composite, man-made plastic material used for countertops, noted for low cost and ease of cleaning.

Laminate Flooring
An engineered fiber board flooring designed to simulate wood.

 

 

Level Loop Carpet
A type of loop pile carpet, noted for smoothness of surface, achieved by weaving loops all the same size.

Lintel
An L-shaped steel bar placed over doors and windows to support the weight of masonry.

Load-Bearing
A term which may refer to a wall, joist, floor, etc, which bears the weight and force of whatever rests upon it, transferring that weight and force to the foundation.

Mantel
The decorative framework (trim) around a fireplace.

Manual  J
A method of “load calculation” used by HVAC contractors to properly size HVAC systems.
