Carpet
Carpet installations is best done near the end of the construction process. You may handle it as a separately contracted job or as part of the total flooring package.
When making carpet selection, don’t worry about what style of carpet is supposedly the latest trend.
Building houses for sale, I heard a lot of, “this is what everyone is buying right now.”
That’s not a consideration for you unless you think you might be selling the house fairly soon.
You should buy the most durable, easiest to clean, highest quality carpet that you can afford and not worry about anything else.
There are several types of carpet that are available, but two types are all you really need to consider.
Cut Pile Carpet
Different types of “cut pile” carpeting offer the softest feel and most luxurious look. These offer medium durability.
Level Loop Pile Carpet
The weaving process of level loop pile carpet gives it the highest durability and track resistance. One style of this type, “berber” (shown above) is one I’ve often used myself. It gives excellent durability in high-traffic areas, making a great choice for recreation or play rooms.
