Building It In The Right Order
26. Do trim carpentry.
27. Paint.
28. Install cabinets. You should have measured for these and had them on order weeks ago.
The only other issues of chronology that I worry about are getting bathroom flooring down before plumbing final, and ensuring that water/sewer hookup lines, and underground electric service conduit are in place and inspected before driveways and sidewalks are poured.
Nothing else in the remaining job should cause a problem if your chronology is inexact.
These 28 steps make up the guideline I use. This should not, however, be considered a complete guide, nor an exact one for your house building project.
Each job is unique and code and inspection requirements may differ in your area.Â
For definitive guideline, consult with your subcontractors and building inspector.
